the battle

Ever felt that spiritual battle in your mind and your heart...the battle that literally seems to have satan on one shoulder and the Lord on the other? The daggers go back and forth? Circumstances and our faith seem to be at odds? What we feel and what we know just don't sing the same tune? As a follower of Jesus, we will inevitably face this battle many times in our walk - the battle of the world and THE WORD. It can happen weekly...even daily...moment by moment - spiritual warfare! When you find yourself in this battle, you need to STOP, absorb yourself in God's Word, and show the world and it's evil schemes just how BIG your God is! When the world tries to pull you down, when the circumstances seem overwhelming, when Satan whispers lies in your ear, just remember this amazing TRUTH... He who is in you, He who holds you in the Palm of His Hand...He is greater still! Stand tall, child of the Living God, for the Lord Himself is your defense. His grace is your shield! He is your Redeemer, your Rock, and your Salvation!

Don't let those worldly lies take over your mind and heart. Take captive EVERY thought and make it obedient to Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5), resist the devil and He WILL flee from you (James 4:7), and remember that ALL that is around us is temporary, all will wither and fade, but the Word of the Lord remains FOREVER (Isaiah 40:8). This world is not our home, we are just passing thru...onward to that Celestial City, where indeed all things will be made PERFECT, all tears will be wiped from our eyes (Revelation 21:4-5), and He who saved your very soul will welcome you into His Eternal Paradise (Matthew 25:23). Don't let this world steal your joy! Don't let the enemy think for even a moment that he has won... his fate is determined; he has LOST the battle (Revelation 20:10). Stand firm - firm in the Word of God, for His Word is a Light unto your path (Psalm 119:105). His Word is truer than anything you see and anything you feel...His Word is LIVING and ACTIVE (Hebrews 4:12). ​When satan sends his darts and arrows, when the world around you becomes his tools set to cause you to stumble, seeking to tear you down, to shame you, to hurt you, to dethrone the very God who lives in you, arm yourselves with that wonderful armor - the Armor of God; take up your Shield of Faith (Ephesians 6:10-18), pray in the Spirit, and walk ahead clothed in the blood of Christ. There is power, power, WONDER WORKING POWER in the precious Blood of the Lamb! There is NO CONDEMNATION for those in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:1), and He who began a good work in you WILL carry it on to completion (Philippians 1:6).

So, back off world; back off satan... Our God is BIGGER! Our God is greater! Circumstances may be dark, but our God is the LIGHT of the world. Trials may be tough, but our God is MIGHTY. Valleys may be low, but He is there in the heights just as He is there in the depths! Onward, Christian soldier...marching as to war, with the cross of Jesus going on before!
